ABOUT
In her practice, Jayde feels that the people she works with are the experts in their own lives. Her counselling approach is warm, supportive and compassionate, where she thoughtfully listens to feedback in order to tailor interventions to meet every individual’s unique needs. She values creating a safe place where individuals feel heard and empowered.
Jayde is a registered psychologist who has been working in the Gunnedah community since June 2018. She completed her studies at the University of Newcastle in 2017, then moved to Gunnedah to begin a provisional psychology internship at a local youth mental health service. She quickly grew to love the welcoming, diverse and resilient community of Gunnedah, which she is now proudly a part of and is dedicated to providing an evidence-based, successful and valuable psychological service to community members.
Jayde has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and young adults, and she enjoys working with people of all ages to help them to achieve their goals. She works with people presenting with a range of mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety, disordered eating, emotion dysregulation and poor self-esteem. In addition, Jayde supports children and adults of all neurotypes, including autism and ADHD, from a neuro-affirming perspective through encouraging their strengths and supporting adaptations to their environment that affirms and positively fosters their identity. Jayde is also passionate about supporting individuals of all ages who have experienced trauma, including family and domestic violence. Jayde has completed training in numerous evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and trauma-informed practices.
Jayde holds general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) - registration number: PSY0002192322. Jayde is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS).
